School Site Council
The School Site Council (SSC) determines academic instructional programs and related categorical resource expenditures. All schools that receive federal or state categorical funding are required to have a School Site Council.
The School Site Council:
- Sets and reviews school goals.
- Sets the Title I Parent Involvement Policy and the School-Family Compact.
- Develops the Title I parent involvement budget.
- Develops the school safety plan.
- Oversees the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) and its budget.
- Collaborates with other councils and advisory groups

The SSC meets monthly on a Wednesday at 4pm in-person and through Zoom.
TITLE I OVERSIGHT
The SSC also oversees the educational needs of economically disadvantaged students and Title I funds. Title I participants include students who are at risk of failing in school. The program funds supplemental services needed to raise the academic achievement of students in grades K through 12. Additional support may be provided through staff development, health, and guidance services.
The SSC works to increase academic achievement. Parents have the opportunity to participate in the design and implementation of the program through activities such as developing a parent policy, home-school compacts, parent training, and volunteer participation in school activities.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the assessment of educational needs, the establishment of priorities, planning of the educational program and budget resources, and the evaluation of school programs and their academic effectiveness.
- Assess the educational needs of students at the school.
- Establish data-related priorities.
- Plan the educational program and budget resources.
